Quelques arbres seulement is a music and dance performance which explores the thematic of resilience while being inspired by the twisted trees found on Fatima’s cliffs, on the Madgalen Islands, in Quebec. It presents a metaphorical exploration of the wild and timeless environment of the resilient-tree figure. A first picture was composed gradually between February and June 2014 during several sessions of music, sound and choreographic improvisation. The performance has moreover an improvised dimension: the choreographic and sound structure is determined and materials used in each section are partially organized, but reinvention is inherent to every performance.
Performance: Marie-Hélène Breault and Annie Gagnon
Composition: Martin Bédard, Marie-Hélène Breault, Annie Gagnon and Katia Makdissi-Warren
