Teaching

Marie-Hélène Breault has more than twenty years of flute teaching experience. She has trained and supervised students of all levels and ages (college and university students, amateur adults, teenagers, children). Her teaching is based on a personalized approach that takes into account each student’s uniqueness. Her pedagogical approach focuses on technical learning (sound, fingers, articulation, intonation) and the performer’s consciousness of their own body (posture, breathing), while integrating the development of expressiveness, stylistic sensitivity, artistic sense, and creativity. Breault is an engaged educator and a sought-after communicator. She regularly presents lectures on topics related to flute performance at various educational institutions across Quebec.

She is currently teaching flute, music literature and ear training at Cégep Marie-Victorin. She also teaches flute at the Université du Québec à Montréal and at École secondaire Joseph-François-Perreault, as well as in her private flute studio located in Vieux-Longueuil.
