I have more than twenty years of flute teaching experience. I have trained and supervised students of all levels and ages (college and university students, amateur adults, teenagers, children). My teaching is based on a personalized approach that takes into account each student’s uniqueness. My pedagogical approach focuses on technical learning (sound, fingers, articulation, intonation) and the performer’s consciousness of their own body (posture, breathing), while integrating the development of expressiveness, stylistic sensitivity, artistic sense, and creativity.

I am currently teaching flute at the Université du Québec à Montréal, at Cégep Marie-Victorin and at École secondaire Joseph-François-Perreault, as well as in my private flute studio located in Vieux-Longueuil. Finally, I regularly present masteclasses and lectures on topics related to flute performance at various educational institutions across Quebec.

Would you like to learn to play the flute for fun and to perform pieces you love? Get back into shape on the instrument after leaving it aside for a while? Perfect a specific aspect of your playing or improve your overall level? Prepare auditions for a college or university program?

I would love to welcome you to my private studio, where I offer lessons to amateur, semi-professional and advanced flutists. I also accompany professional flutists who wish to perfect a specific aspect of their playing, for example sound, intonation or contemporary playing techniques. I also offer chamber music and music theory lessons for amateur musicians and advanced students who wish to deepen their ensemble playing or their understanding of the musical discourse.

The lesson content is flexible and adapted to your musical tastes, goals and schedule. At our first meeting, I will invite you to play a piece or an étude in order to assess what should be worked on, and we will discuss the repertoire you wish to learn. Then we will establish an instrumental work routine to achieve your goals, depending on the time you have available for flute practice. At the end of each lesson, a checklist summarizing the concepts covered in the lesson will be sent to you by email to serve as a reference for your individual practice.

My private teaching studio consists of a large windowed workspace with several flutes, an upright piano, a sheet music library, large mirrors and the furniture necessary for chamber music practice. Established in Vieux-Longueuil, my studio is located near the Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station (10 minutes by bus, 15 minutes by bike or 30 minutes on foot). If you prefer to use your car, a private parking space is available.
